The British Film Institute in London are showing Derek's 4 films LINK / CIRCLE / REEL and CHANGE on June 26th, 2012 at their theatre in Southbank. The fourth film " Change " 1973 ( 16 mm / b&w / 10 mins / sound ) was shot during his large installation " Change " at the Whitechapel Gallery, London in 1973. The film, when finished was abandoned and put into a film can , where it remained unopened for 38 years, until January 2012, when it was rediscovered and new prints were made.
An Englishman in LA (Mr. Boshier) is a song and a CD by Clem Crosby and Jonathan and David Stephenson for their forthcoming album Robert Fraser's Groovy Arts Club Band. Derek Boshier conducted a drawing workshop at Tate Modern, London in January 2012, as part of the series Re Imaging The Line. The session was recorded for the Tate Archive. The National Portrait Gallery, London has acquired Portrait of The Artist Malcolm Morley by Derek Boshier, oil on canvas, painted in 1980. The NPG entry can be viewed here.

in New Orleans will show "Derek
Boshier : Extreme Makeover" from May
16 to June 17, 2009, at 938 Royal Street, New Orleans, Louisiana. Jancar Gallery is showing "Derek Boshier: Paintings and Drawings of the 1980's" at their new location in Los Angeles' Chinatown at 961 Chung King Road from March 7, to the 28th, 2009. "Untitled" a gouache from 1982 is in the exhibition (right).
Derek is an accomplished teacher and lecturer and
is currently teaching, Spring of 2008, at Art
Center College of Design, in Pasadena. Derek has been a member of
the Visiting Faculty at UCLA's Department
of Art since 2004.
In 2007 Derek was made Honorary Member of The London Institute of Pataphysics. Alfred Jarry and his milieu has long been a subject for Derek, most recently in the "Magazine" paintings. Cover page of a recent
In 2007 Derek was interviewed for The
British Library's "Artists Lives" to be included as part
of the National
Life Story Collection Sound Archives. Derek Boshier's paintings from the early 60s were featured prominently in "British Pop" a comprehensive survey of the period at Bilbao Fine Arts Museum. The exhibition closed February 13th, 2006. Galerie du Centre in Paris has assembled this document to commemorate it. In 2005 BBC 2 aired "Groovy Galleries" the first episode in their series Art & The 60s, made to accompany Tate Britain's Show which featured Derek's work.
